random question: wireless keyboard/mouse going to cause any interference?

i was just curious if it would be a bad idea to use a wireless keyboard and mouse for recording purposes.... I don't know particularly why it would, but i know my behometh CRT monitor liked to add some unwanted "coloration" into my audio signals before I upgraded my audio cables.

any thoughts?

It is an interesting question, and while I do not know I would highly doubt it. There are keyboards that use Bluetooth and infrared if you're fanatical about it.
 
the one i have is like radio frequency i think... microsoft desktop. its too cheap to be bluetooth and it doesnt have to be line-of-sight IR.

If your equipment is properly shielded and filtered, there should be no problem. But if there is one, you should be able to hear it.
 
I've been using a Logitech RF wireless mouse for 2 years. No problems. Do yourself a favor............cut the cord!
 
A long time. I probably replace mine twice a year. The newest ones are rechargable and come with a charging stand. Pretty cool.

I have a very poorly wired bass that does pick up my wireless mouse, but it's rarely a problem, as I just face the other way when tracking. Other than that, I love wireless for recording. It lets me be several feet away from my desk and I can still hit "record." As for batteries, I use rechargeable NiMH batts in my mouse that I charge every few months. I've yet to replace my keyboard batteries (alkaline) and have had the keyboard for about 14 months.
 
I've been using the Gyration wireless keyboard and mouse, not a single problem - no interference with the wireless phone or the wireless router. The neat thing about the Gyration is the mouse, it doubles as a pointer giving you access to your software no matter where you are in the studio... Very cool.. The mouse has a docking station to recharge the batteries, and I think I put new batteries in the keyboard once in the past 18 months....
