Randall Vmax Micing Questions

One of my friends has just bought a Randall Vmax Full Stack. Im about to record his band. I was wondering if it would sound better Micing the Cabinet w/ an SM 57 or should I use the cabinet simulator circuit on the back of the Head?
 
Mic it...direct sounds crappy no matter what the amp. You could always do both and compare the sounds, blend them together if you want...whetever works. But definately stick a mic on it either way. No use limiting yourself.
