I've been looking around for an 8 ohm cab loaded up with some fairly high wattage speakers to use with this old Yamaha G100 head I picked up (currently at the repair shop - it didn't work).
Today, at a pawn shop, I saw a Randall RX120D head and cabinet - they sold it for $300 tax included (so, about $275) - it's like this one:

a 4x12 cab can cost that much itself, so I picked it up. I figure I can Craigslist the head and get some of the $ back.
I've got to say, I have nothing against Randall, but I don't even want to try it out for some reason - it's pretty new, and it's got a bunch of built in effects - the Yamaha was going to be my foray into solid state amps, and I'm kind of excited to get it back from repair.
I guess I'll try it and post back - is anyone using one of these?
