I can't imagine. Their website reads like the computer equivalent of an environmentalist propaganda magazine---all feel good, with no actual content.

their 100gig 2.5" portable drives are $300

I got my 60gig for $75 and there's a 120gig one for like $120.

Yikes! Since the high end 100 gig laptop drives only cost about $120 each for the bare drive, that means that their USB/FireWire case costs $180! For that price, I'd expect it to at least be FireWire 800....

um it's not that high end either.... same ol' 2.5" hard drive, 5400rpm. it does have two firewire ports and one usb for daisychaining via firewire but even then, a different brand with the exact same specs (yes, even the connectability) is $120 at newegg.com

Ouch.

i understand the high price on their computer, supposedly it's completely silent.... but that's probably an exaggeration and even then it's still overpriced

There are other builders out there who build a machine that is silent and powerful for alot less money. Rain is great at marketing and website building, I'll give them that.
