rag-tag miking of drum kit

Here's what I have to work with:

Audio-Technica 4040 (large condenser)
Audio-Technica 4041 (small condenser)
Shure SM-58 (dynamic)
Sennheiser e-835 (dynamic)
Audix OM-2 (dynamic)

Need to record a 4-piece kit. Where would you put stuff?

4041 over the hi-hat side of the kit, 4040 over the floor tom side of the kit, SM 58 in the kick, e835 on the snare. Use the Glyn Johns or Recorderman micing methods, whichever sounds better on your kit/in your room.

My $0.02, of course :D

Condensers as overheads, SM-58 on the snare, other two on the kick, one inside or outside the front head, the other pointed at the beater head point of impact

I tried the "recorderman" method. I used the Audio-Technica mikes. I turned the levels on my interface down to zero, and the drum track still clipped out. Any suggestions?

ps - Only one of them has a -10db pad. I'm sure that would have solved it for that mic.
