FYI from a former Radio Shack Employee...

Radio Shack's "Top of the Line" microphone is actually made by Shure... although i can't remember the SKU or price of it, i thought i would let everyone on here know just for the sake of trying to be helpful. Hope this helped some how... thanks -ty

Yeah, I used to have a Shure-made Radio Shack mic.

Gave it to my son when when I bought a Shure-made Shure. :)

True enough.... but Shure-made Radio Shack mics are way below "bottom of the line" within the Shure product catalog........

I'd bet that most radio shack stuff is just private label manufactured...I've never seen a radio shack "factory". Yeah some of their mics have been made by Shure, Crown, and various other companies...it's a quick buck for everyone involved. You should still expect radio shack quality.

I actually used a Shure made Radio Shack PZM for a kick drum recording that sounded great. I was very surprised.

My daughter uses my old Radio Whack mic for her Barbie karaoke
machine & to hammer the LEGO parts together!
Very useful tool!

Though, and I can't remember which one, Harve "Mic-Master" G. recommended one particular Radio Whack mic for toms and small overhead kit duties!

That would be the RS#33-3032,a damn good clone of the Senn E-604.I bought 4 after Harv's recommendation and have been real happy using them.

I also purchased some 33-3032's after reading about them on this site. Very decent mics for toms in the 8"-13" range (I don't think they do low end real well). Also a decent mic to close mic congas/bongos.

However the houseing is frail (don't think it would take too many thumps - not like an SM57) and the tom mounts are pretty limited - but the mic's sound pretty good!

the PZm was cool, and the tom mikes. I used to have a shure/radioshack sm58ish mike that I used for gigs...Didnt have to worry about it
