hi-
any tips on the best hardware or software to use for making a 2 track edit?
my band has a song that the radio programmer wants 2 minutes shaved off of.
help!
thanks

Anything really.

You could use a program like Wavelab or Sound forge, or you could load the two-track version in Sonar or something and just cut the end off.

thanks for the tips!
can't be a fade though, has to be a "hard edit" right in the middle of the song.
will load the 2 track into Sound Forge and see what happens.
thanks again,David! :)

If you don't want to buy something there is a free-ware audio editor called Audacity before I purchased Wavelab. Just google it If you're interested in it.

You could still do it in something like SONAR or cubase:

1. Load the 2track recording in SONAR ( import Audio)

2. Select the middle area you want out ( In SONAR, I think you hold the Alt button while dragging the mouse over the Area you want selected)

3. Delete the area (right-click in Sonar than hit delete)

4. There will be a gap. Grab the part to the right of the gap and drag it over! In Sonar, you may have to undo Snap to grid. I just tried it and it worked perfectly. You can even do a VERY small crossfade, it wont be heard but it will get rid of any "pop" caused by cutting the audio.

I assume you can do the same with just about any sequencer-type software. Good luck with it!!

you guy's are great!
thanks for the tips, will work with Sonar tonite and post the results tommorow.
