Hi! I get VST peaks in Cubase while recording. Even with just 5% VST usage, I get drop-outs with a latency under 23 ms. I need to have a lower latency for realtime effects monitoring.
I have a DSP2000 C-port PCI interface in an Athlon 64 X2 2.1 Ghz computer. It has 2Gb of Ram, a separate drive for audio. XP installed with dualboot, for audio only. An ATI Radeon 5750 PCI-e video card. This card could possibly be the cause of the dropouts. When something happens on screen (scrolling, redraw), the dropouts get worse.
Is there a way to stop the graphics card from causing this problems? Or is a fast gaming card just not suitable for a recording system?
Thanks, Daan
PS I have the latest drivers, defragmented both drives, disabled speed-stepping in the bios, etc etc...
