did we ever figure out a way to cut holes in the aluminum chassis reliably or is it best to order the cuts from somewhere?

Blow Me !!!
Get a stepped drill bit and a Drill press ..... Ive never had much of a problem doing holes for TS/TRS and XLR Jacks but if you need square or rectangle holes for certain switches and VU meters ect , yer gonne need to take it to a shop ....
