I've had little problem drilling and tapping mine. I just went to the local hardware store and picked up a 10/32 tap and drill bit (you guys are metric so what everyou're using) and it was a piece of cake. I laid the rack on its back and marked where I wanted the holes, removed the gear and drilled all the holes. Then I put the tap in the drill and CAREFULLY tapped the holes. The tap kit is cheep enough that if you snap the tap off in a hole (which I did) it's no big deal (except that it's a pain in the ass working the snapped off bit back out of the hole).
