Rack mounting a mixer.

I have a Soundcraft Spirit Folio SX mixer and I have rack ears for it on the way. Now I need to find a proper rack so I can mount it but I'm unsure of the size requirements. How do I find out if my mixer will fit the rack I want? Thanks.

Well if I am understanding you correctly, I assume you want to know how many spaces you will need to accomidate your mixer. If this is the case, then all you have to do is measure the overall height of your mixer and divide by 1.75, which is the space of a single rack, this will tell you how many spaces you need minimum. I think the SX is about a 10 space, (don't quote me on that). But I think it would be a good idea to get a case that will accomidate your mixer plus a few more spaces for expandability, such as a power module, effects, cable boxes etc. Shock mount racks are a plus, but also more $$$.
