Can anyone suggest a good rack mounted cd player?
I dont really want to get a cdr unless it is roland vs880 compatible which i dont think is possible.
Im looking to replace my home bookshelf stero in the studio and I want quailty and the abilty to use it for get samples for my MPC-60.
I was a Guitar-self-Centered yesterday and saw the Stanton line of DJ Dual CD players. They look pretty cool not too expensive decent features anyone know what I should do?
It seems from my research that stabnton is know for turntable needles but are they any good with other stuff?
or should i go
Denon (know for good stereo equipment)
or Numark
does Sony make a rack mount?
How a bout Next! by stanton?
Any help would be cool.
Thanks.

I guess I will reply to myself

How about the pioneer cdj 500?
I hear they are pretty cool. Not rack mount but quality product.
Anyone else know about it?
Or maybe a Tascam?
anyone?

Luv rackmountable ANYTHING! I have a plextor burner in this pc
but hardly ever use it has I don't use compooters to record with.
In my rack I have a Tascam CD-RW700 w. 24 bit A/D/A converters
which I use for burning down my main musical projects,anOnkyo
CDR-RW 516,which has 20 bit A/D/A and a 32/44hz sampling rate conversion control.I use this for duplications and copies. And finally, the worst c/d burner ever made IMHO,the Phillips 785 dual tray burner. Try annd stay away from Phillips burners (even though they basically evented the c/d player) as their models have a very hi BLER (block-error rates),cannot record to most standard recordable c/d's (basically you need to use HD-CD's)
and are prone to misread pre-recorded redbook/orange book c/ds.

I guess Tascam would be worth looking at indeed. Not the cheapest stuff but you'll know you bought quality. Personally I'm not a big fan of to many flashing light and silver housings. Yet another vote for Tascam. Pro looking!

The Marantz cd400pro looks like a good deal also at EUR 255

I bought a Teac rackmountable [with optional ears] CD player for my church. The model number escapes me...but something like a 150...or something along those lines. Only about $125 bucks, and no SPDIF, etc....single CD, etc.... Works ok...but.....it takes a good 10 seconds, sometimes more, to recognize ANY Cd that is in the tray. A real pain when we use if for background music to sing along with. Ya sit there and wait....loooooong silences....not good. Otherwise....ok.

I didn't see anyone mention this one yet, so I'll toss it out there:

Sony CDRW33
