I am tired of draging my laptop around to gigs. I just purchased a 2U rack from rackmountmaster.com and plan on building a rack PC
Found and ASUS P5 motherboard and going with 4gigs of DDR2 corsair mem., 3.0ghz P4 with HT, two SATA 120gig drives. The rack only allows for 3 PCI Express slots but that should be plenty...(one for the 424 card interface for the Motu 2408mk3) and some other I/O's. As far as the monitor....they want a crazy amount of moola for the 1U LCD/keyboard combo $1200+. I think I'll build my own. 3 rack spaces for a full PC will be kick ass...I'll post pics when I'm done
Has anyone had any issues with durability of PC Harddrves in a rack case??? If so....do you think 7200rpm lappy drives are better at suppressing shocks and vibes???
