Alas, my trustworthy and reliable PC, running Windows ME and Logic Audio, has just proved the lie of those two adjectives, having converted itself into a pile of recyclables.
I could salvage something from the wreckage, by trying to find a CPU and motherboard that will still support ME and AGP video cards (with most of them just supporting PCI express these days), or I could risk life and limb by venuring into XP, firewire interfaces and software other than LA.
These are big changes; LA has been a faithful friend for many years, and I am uncomfortable with learning something new.
So what do I do? Interfaces catching my eye are Motu Traveler, PreSonus Firepod, Tascam FW 1804, Motu Ultralight, Edirol FA101, Echo AudioFire8 (bearing in mind my need for at least the eight inputs to which I have been accostumed).
Does anyone know of any nasties with one or other of these interfaces that I should be aware of?
