I don't post here very often because up till now, I haven't really had a studio.

I finally got so frustrated with all the ambient noise I got tracking in my living room, that I converted the back room into a studio, by cutting pieces of plywood and edging them with felt and jamming them into the shutter frames to block the noise. It removes about 95% of the noise, and what's left is high frequency and weak and seems not to get picked up by even the NT-1. The noisiest thing in the room now is the monitor (I put the computer out in the hall and close the door).

We use this room as a walk-in closet and for book storage, so there's lots of stuff to absorb sound. It's a book closet studio. I've been doing this for over a year. Doesn't take long for some people to learn, does it?

Very cool Sir. It seems like as soon as you dedicate a space for recording, no matter how big or small, it's much more satisfying. Nothing like haveing your own club house.
