searching wasn't helping me... gave up... pardon the newbieness.

Which takes less CPU? running analog from the keys into my firepod or s/pdif

Also, I want to zero-latency monitor... would the s/pdif signal cause latency?

cheers

Your CPU will neither know nor care which you run as that work should be done on the Firepod. If you go analog, the Firepod's A/D convertors will convert the analog signal to it's internal digital stream protocol.

If you come in spdif, then thbe Firepod just translates that protocol to it's internal digital stream protocol.

Either way, you CPU only knows about receiving the digital data stream frm the Firepod's drivers, and there will be no difference.

Also, neither will have any effect on latency.
