I have my bands 24 audio tracks (for our demo songs) downloaded in Cakewalk Home Studio XL as recorded from my Alesis HD24. Now its mixdown time. ;)

All seems to work fine except I can not change the tempos of the tunes. If we played a song fast and I want to slow it down, how do I do it??

ex; If the song (all 24 tracks) are running and the tempo meter is showing 100.00 (I assume thats 100 beats per minute) anyway, I change it to 120.00 or even just to play around 180.00, the tempo of the playback isnt any different then how it was recorded initially>?>?>?

I think it does work with MIDI files, and the tempo changes, but it dosent seem to change with WAV files (tracks).

Is there a way to change the tempo if using the mixer to mixdown wave tracks???

Thanks and peace

In short, that method as you point out, only works for midi tracks.

I am not sure what features and functionality your product has, but I would use a DXi plugin to do an off-line process of the audio tracks to slow them down.

Results are exceedingly variable.

Changing the tempo using the overall BPM only works with MIDI and loops. What you can do....Ihave done it and it is tedious. You have to split the tracks and tell the computer how many beats are in that loop. I think the max beats you can have in a cakewalk loop is 128(?). Once you get the tracks each into its own recognizable loop you can assign tempo changes and it will play the loops slower or faster dependant upon your tempo. It does work, I've done it but like I said it is very tedious.
