Does anyone here know in what way the pci324 increases the performance of the DAW? The MOTU website is very fuzzy on this subject, refering to some sort of chip that's supposed to do wonders. I don't know. I can't seem to get a stright answer anywhere. I mean, take the creamware cards; you got your shark-processors, i.e DSP power, etc. But in the case of those cards, the power only benefits scope-related plugins. The chip on the pci324 is, in some surrealistic way, supposed to increase the overall DAW performance. Am I right? And how does it work?

I just got out of bed. Sorry if I'm being a bit unclear..
Thanks

Yep, you seem unclear ;)

AFAIK the 324 is outdated by the 424. And to my knowledge it's jusy a 'vehicle' card, meant to get signal in and out of the computer, just add any breakout box you want (up to four !!! niiiiice) and it should take care of some form of monitor (cue) mixing for you (not straining the computer).

I'm seriously looking into a 424 + 24i/o combination myself to replace my 3x STaudio c-port into some better convertors.
