Ok so if you record drums with 2 or more mics chances are you will get spill, Ensure good mic position and keep this to a minimum.

You will likely get spill from noise from headphones, other drums or other instruments being recorded in the room.

This can be helped this is what i did to mine

Kick - you could hear a lot of snare and headphones spill, I applied a gate and turned it onto open at 0db providning it was recorded t normal level this should all through only the bass drum.

Snare- plenty of hat spill , i added a gate and brought the gate open up to about -4db as the hats are quiet it was enough

Hats - snare spill, i added a gate and brought it up to 0db but i was loosing some of the hits so i dropped it a little to allow all hits through but not too much that the hat could be heard.

Toms- Spill from most of the kit the gain must have been quite high but this allowed for my gate to open at 2db and collect all the tom hits and nothing else.

with the overheads you should not get spill unless its from guitar or headphones if thats the case just set the gate to open at about -6 and check through to ensure you get everythig, a bit of trial and error will get you through this easily

And there you have it all your drums seperared upto you what to do with that.

well thats what I did and my kit sounds really strong so yeah...

So you're saying that all of your kick drum hits were ABOVE 0 db?

All of your tom hits were ABOVE 2 db, etc, etc.....?

You gate your overheads at -6?

All of this, and you really have headphone bleed in your kick drum mic? wierd

Those are just some strange figures.....that's all I'm going to say.

Hey, glad it's working for you, but I don't think I'd make recommendations like that to people.

the headphone spill into a kick hitting on 0Db....that's funny.

Did the guy wearing the headphones survive?

umm dont see how thats weird im new to all of this so any advice would be cool.

yah the foldback was turned down and it wasnt recorded as loud but when i took it home and put it onto cakewalk gt pro it was really loud especially compared to my guitar tracks but i soon normalised that at it was fine

Am i missing something here?

Okay, but your post appeared to be giving advice. Therefore I though it was worth pointing out how extremely strange your figures sound.

And I rarely get headphone bleed in anything, much less a kick drum mic. I can't imagine how loud the phones would have to be to be picked up in the kick mic. So yeah.....that's a little wierd.

i was more sharing my experience but i can see how it came across like that i think the drummer never had his cans on properly but anyhow it was real quiet in the mic.
