Okay...near 50 years of age now (one year to go) and like many of the big hair 80's era rockers...I'm doing more coffeehouse style blues and folk now.

Crowds I've been playing to on the average has been 40-120 people...and once in awhile might do an outdoor back porch thing.

I've been luggin' around the older near 75# (more or less) Peavey CS800 amp...

I'm thinkin' of getting 15" speaker cabs...as I played thru some a few weeks ago and forgot how much warmer they sounded. At anyrate, I've been looking at the QSC amps around 21 pounds or so...and putting everything finally into one gig rack. But, which amp will be sufficient?

The two I've been gravitating between is the QSC RMX 850 and the RMX 1450..... any insights, comments or advice?

thanks....

bloozguy,

If you can at all swing it, I'd spend just a little more $$$ and get the QSC powerlite (PLX) series. And Get the biggest amp you can afford. With the PLX series even the big ones don't weigh all that much (certainly not like a peavey CS800 boat anchor)!
