Slowing becoming un-noob.
No sound whatsoever now coming from it. Not even the plugging in the cable sound/click.

One question:
Do magnets negatively affect microphones?
Also is there some thing that just might be disconnected in the mic that I could fix manually?

I admit I haven't been taking much care of this mic for a while...but it has been working, and now all of the sudden it has stopped.
I carried it for about a 15 minute walk in the back of my amp, which I was carrying in my arms. The mic was right next to the speaker then obviously, so that's why I have the magnet question. I'm just glad it wasn't a super expensive mic or something. It's a Behringer B-2pro. Nothing spectacular. But it sure worked nicely for what I needed.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You sure the cable didn't break? Your preamp? I'm assuming another mic works correctly with the same cable/pre, right? If it's a condenser, I'm assuming phantom is on, right?

Not significantly. The guts are buried in a huge slab of metal....

Odds are, a wire broke, probably on the XLR connector. Pop that sucker open and have a look. :)

Without being there to trouble shoot, my gut says that the mic is not whats at fault. Generally speaking if you have a live preamp and phantom power on you will definately hear a pop when pluggin or unpluggiong the mic even if it isn't working.

Oh damn!!! I TOTALLY forgot about phantom power...Wow.
I was using someone else's setup. On mine I always turn the phantom power on with the power, I wasn't thinking at all about phantom power...
Thanks guys. I was really bummed out.

Thanks again. Can't believe I didn't think of that...Oh well.

I'll close the thread.
Thanks again!
