Yes, I know I've posted this before, but it was in the wrong section and i couldnt delete it..

Hey everyone,
I know that there are sepearte forums for each of these topics, but I don't feel like making a post in every one... Anyways, I'm going to start out building a home studio with about a budget of $1000. What is the best gear to buy in my price range. I don't need instruments (already have em).

Here is the gear I already have (most of it are hand-me-downs)
-Electro-Voice RE15
-Crappy Realistic Cardioid
-Allen & Heath Scepter Rack (12 pres, not very high quaity)
-M-Audio Audio Buddy Preamp

I'm looking to do multitrack recording on to my computer (its fast enough - I'm looking at the M-Audio Delta 1010 used off eBay) or possibly onto a hard disc recorder (although that may be too expensive). I'm willing to buy gear off eBay.

I'm thinking that I mainly need the recorder, mics, and maybe a little soundproofing for my closet for vocals?

I would also like to record an acoustic guitar, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks for everyones help,
Jeff

If you have a decent computer, a Delta 1010 is a great choice. I've been using one for the past few years and it's done it's job well. You'll also need to look at a set of studio monitors. For recording guitar and vocals, check out a Studio Projects B1 condenser microphone. It's a pretty good mic for both of those purposes and won't break the bank. You can use any combination of the preamps you already have to run into the Delta 1010 and from there you can do all your mixing on your PC.
