Hey guys, I just bought a pretty feature heavy phonograph player to sample some vinyl. I have a couple questions regarding some of the features.

1. It has a cut button that doesn't seem to do anything...wtf?
2. What is anti-skate, and where should I set it?
3. What is the counterweight for that is labeled in .5 1, 1.5 etc up to 3?

Also, I bought a JVC tape recorder with 2 RCA jacks labeled Compulink synchro. What is that?

nvrmind, as much as I appreciate it, and may need it again, I have to return the phonograph player. The stylus was too far recessed, and upon attempting to bring it out, it just broke off.

I'll keep this in mind for the next one I buy.

The stylus is replaceable. Are you sure you didn't just pull it off? It will just clip back in if you did.

Right, what Farview said. Stylii (styluses, styliises, styliisuses??) are replaceable. pretty much a consumable item. They should be replaced every few years anyways.... Don't have to return your turntable.
