I calibrated my Tascam 38 a while back and had no problems with how to set that up according to it's it's normal set up but I'm confused about when you recalibrate for a different type of tape. Would you actually use the MRL tape when setting up for another tape because doesn't that just set up the output voltage? For the Tascam 38 being -10 output. This you don't ever want to change correct? Also is it possible to set up you're tape deck for a different reference fluxivity? For instance the 38 is 250 nWb can you change it for 200 nWb? Which might sound crazy to some but I'm thinking I want a different eq sound completely similar to the old TEAC.
I should have named my new screen named WheelSpinner of ReelSpinner because in a way I'm still stuck in the same situation I was in when I got locked out of this site however many months ago it was. but I'd like to see what else I can do with Tascam 38. I've been looking things up here and got some good info from the MRL site but am still having a problem grasping some things. It's such a twisted conceptualization. I should probably post a picture of the heads for feedback.
