question with audiophile 2496

I need a small mixer for the sole purpose of switching from monitors to headphones for recording with audiophile 2496. I need to be able to record with microphones without the monitor noise. Can anybody offer a cheap suggestion?

behringer ub802 50 or 60 bucks or the ub502 which is 40 or 50 bucks......but why not just turn the monitors off when your tracking and save the money altogether?

Maybe I am doing something wrong?

The output from the card runs direct to the monitors. I have no headphone line out on the soundcard. If I am missing something please let me know. Thanks

My setup does exactly what u want. Output of 2496 i connect to the tape in jacks of my small UB502 mixer, monitors then connect to the Main out jacks of mixer. I can then switch between monitors, headphones, or both. I can track and record at same time by setting up the proper routing in the 2496 mixer. I use the mixer as volume control for monitors. Of course, headphones go into headphone jack on mixer.
