Question To All Stratocaster Owners---

I've never played through an AVT 275. I've heard Strats through various Marshall tube amps and they can sound fantastic. My personal playing experience with a Strat is through a Fender Super Six, a Matamp GT100, and a Vox AC30CC, all tube amps. My favorite is the Vox, second would be the Matamp, and third the Fender - but Strats sound good through all of them.

There are lots of Strat sounds; which one are you looking for? I have a '64 BFDR, and my Strat definitely sounds "Stratty" through it. Clean and glassy in the #2 position with plenty of quack.

Tube amps rule.

The sound of my 72 Fender Thinline Tele with two humbuckers (it's a newer Mexi model) thru my Hot Rod Deluxe was fantastic. It sounded better to me that my Les Paul thru it. My Paul sounded much better thru my buddy's Fender Twin - not sure why...Fender guitars thru Fender tube amps always seem to match well. I'm playing thru a Line 6 Spider III Half Stack now, and I am very happy with the sounds no matter what I use to play with it. I traded a single 12" speaker and tubes for a 4x12 cab and solid state with digital modeling, and so far so good. Go figure, huh?
 
A strat through the Fender tube combos sound amazing, really let that bell tone ring, cool thing is they arent too expensive.

what dont you like about your sound ?? ...... when i play my strat through my marshall i turn down the gain to get a classic strat sound.... a little reverb helps also ......... :cool:

Geez I've read this so many times already. I feel tone really is derived from wood, pickups, hardware, strings, amplifiers, tubes, speakers, etc...

An electric guitar right? Has all those elements in it that decide tone. How can your fingers decide all that? Fingers are nothing more than flesh and bone.

While I've never been a fan of the AVT series (I'd even take a MG over one, for the price), the bigger question is, when you say "it doesn't sound "STRAT," what do you mean by "Strat?"

Jimi? SRV? Buddy Holly? Dick Dale?

EDIT - I didn't realize it was a 2-year bump either. Disregard.
 
The best thing to do...

is to take your guitar over to Guitar Center, and play it through their display amps (and, at least here in Detroit, they have A LOT of display amps...tube, solid state...everything). Play it through a Marshall tube amp, Fender Twin, Super Twin, Blues DeVille, Blues Junior (my amp!!). THEN let us know what you think.
 
Yes, I didn't look at the date either, BUT

my suggestion is not bad for anyone either unhappy with their guitar or amp. Say what you will about Guitar Center (right now, I'm not all that thrilled with them), but you can play a whole lot of amps and make an informed decision if looking to move up.
 
Stratocasters are really enhanced by playing them through Fender amps. Of course if you're playing hard rock bordering on metal you will be better off with a Marshall. I use a tube Marshall.
