I'M BLESSED.......
Do anyone HERE record live instruments for Hiphop/Rnb tracks?
Like a Bass, Guitar, Live Drums, etc...... My Son plays a Nasty Bass, I'm gonna mic it up tomorrow and experiment, syncing it with the MPC. (That might not be a good blend, but I'll try it) If that works out I'll probably add real guitar licks too! I'm just curious if y'all are mostly Keys (for your bassline), Keys (for your percussion) and Keys (for everything else).................I like the way Jay Z did the whole Live band thing, I thought it was cool!

I've done live bass and guitar a few times and it was cool, but at the time, my knowledge was limited. I haven't had the oppertunity to do anything like that recently, but would love to. Yeah, Jay-Z at the Fade to Black concert was sick with The Roots playing.

The closer you come to the original instrument the better your stuff going to sound. It will take more effort to compress and eq than the sampling, but it allways sounds better when playing real instrument.

For example:2pac made a song called "real hommies"I think, from the album"untill the end of time"i can asure you that no one comes close to that beat, because the real bass in that track is smokin!

I never got to mic up my Son, but when I say he's ill on the bass "Trust me with that one"....But I was just listening to Run DMC's tougher than Leather and that is an ill piece. The Guitars are ill, very ill, even to your average rock groupie! I guess I am just old school. The glory of it is when you can say that you remember the birth of Hiphop. I definitely remember it as it evolved!
So yeah, I am feeling the live instrumental play...............................I'm born in '67 by the way! 80's kid......yup-yup
