I have a question on how the main bus playback meters are routed in Sonar. There are three options: pre fader, pre fader/post effects, and post fader. Now, the way I read the manual, "post fader" is also "post effects". But, when I use a limiter on my main bus I get strange results. Choosing "pre fader" and cranking up the main bus fader, the red warning light that indicates clipping comes on a lot, as I would expect. If I chose "pre fader, post effect", the clipping light does not come on since the limiter is doing its job. Again, this is what I expect.
The weird part is when I chose "post fader", I get the clipping warning lights again. Shouldn't choosing "post fader" also include "post effects" and give me no warning lights? The limiter sounds like its working fine, it is just the meters that are acting unexpectedly. Am I missing something?
