Due to budget restrictions and band changes, after months with no mixer board I finally landed a Samson TM500 (http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=68&brandID=2). Trust me, it wouldn't be my first choice but it was free and I got a nice set of speakers to go with it. Needless to say it's loud and sounds good and I'm stuck with it.

Now, I've read in the instructions and they say that the channel inserts can be used as outputs but when used as outs they are post-eq but pre-fader. Does this mean that only the trim controls the volume level or what? They manual doesn't explain any more then that.

So could someone please explain exactly how to control the output that the inserts produce, is it even possible? Is their any other way to record multiple channels?

I apologize in advance if it's a dumb question. :( I have done lots of recording in the past pretty successfully if I say so myself, but just not in this way. And yes I know that all I have to do is TRY it and figure it out myself but right now I am lacking the proper equipment.

Thank you for your time.
