Hey all,
I'm within a week or two of finally plunking down the cash for my sequencer and usb card for my laptop. If I understand everything correctly the USB card will work as my outside sound card, but will not work for processing midi sounds. Seeing as I can't buy a midi hardware box or a keyboard I would be limited to softsynths, yes? If so will the USB card work for this, or will I be left to the soundcard on the laptop? Also, which program will allow the best use of this. I'm mostly an acoustic musician (obviously with my limited knowledge of midi) so am just looking to midi bass, drums, atmospheric sounds. Can you run soft synths into Pro Tools LE? I'm pretty sure you can for Sonar and Cubase, but not sure on Pro Tools LE. Will they plug in, or do they have some sort of virtual rack out that you can plug into an audio track to record? Anyhelp you guys can give will be great. Thanks for taking the time to read.
