I've looked at the Helmholtz calculator at SAE, and seen the postings dealing with them here.
My question is, wouldn't the length of the slats contribute to the frequency at which the absorber reacted? It's not included in the calcs, but it seems that it would be important. i.e. a marimba, wind chimes, or octobans - same depth and width of material, yet differnt lengths.
