MoonMix Studios
SONAR 3 Users . . .

In the Track Pane, can the meters be laid down, horizontally, at the base of each Track Control Window, the way they are in in SONAR 2?

This seems to me a more optimum postion, as opposed to upright (which is how they're positioned in all the interface screenshots I've looked at.)

Thanks,

mark4man

You can have them either way. Mine defaulted to the old way, I havent even tried it vertical yet. Guess I will today.

tubedude . . .

Thanks. That's great news!

I know it may seem insignifigant, but that was hanging me up in making a decision to take the plunge from XL 2.2 to 3.

I have also heard that the audio mix engine is improved. Does Cakewalk have any specs or info floating around as to what those improvements might be?

Thanks again,

mark4man

Yep - defaulted to horizontal for me too.

I haven't seen anything official posted by Cakewalk concerning improvements in the audio engine over previous versions. I guess this would be tantamount to saying older versions were inferior to the competition.

Cakewalk have been at pains to promote the fact that the new "universal bus architecture" has been designed from the ground up, so you can take it as read that there have been improvements made in the engine.

I had a thread here a little while ago comparing a band clip from 2.2 and 3.0 -- opinion seemed fairly unanimous that the 3.0 sounded cleaner and clearer.

:) Q.

Go on - do it - you know you want to.........

Yeah yeah. Woho... you can change the way the meters apear in the Track View...

Forget about that! Use the Console View! :D :D

You obviously haven't tried Sonar 3 Producer, have you boy? :D

Don't worry Beltrom, he's from Norway -- and they do things slightly differently...........

Everyone knows that Track View rules OK!

:) Q.

I'll go against popular opinion and say I never saw what the fuss was with the console view on S1 & S2. I've ALWAYS used the console view at one time or another.

You, sir, are a genious. Just as me. :D

Never understood what the fuss was about with Console View?

There's never been a Track # displayed! One has to rely on the Track Name to keep track (no pun intended) of which is which. And the damn Strips are so skinny . . . that becomes difficult in & of itself.

I've never been able to find my way around in Console View . . . never.

If SONAR 3 is any improvement at all in that area (which I see from the screenshots that it seems to be) . . . well, then that must be worth the price of upgrade itself.

BTW - Where in the **** is Acacia Avenue, anyway. You're not from Norway, are you? {;-)>

...........

They didn't need to improve it, but they did anyway. It went from excellent to super excellent... :D :D
