The Eastwood I bought has a Burns trem system on it. I would like to replace that with a brand new Bigsby that I have. The Burns is larger and covers more area than the Bigsby. I pulled the Burns off and it has left an impression in the finish of the guitar. For the Bigsby to cover it and hide it, it would have to be moved back about an inch, inch and a half further. That puts the roller on the Bigsby that the strings go over before going over the bridge that much further back. Will this cause any problems? If I am not exactly clear, or you need more info I will try to go into more detail and get some pictures to show you exactly what I mean but I think you will get the gist of it.

Thanx for any help.
Jerry.

the roller at the top of the picture is the roller I am speaking of. Or the bar (roller) going across the front of the tremolo.

this is the guitar with the existing burns vibrato system.

It might cause a problem. I'd just put the Bigsby in the right place and not worry about the cosmetic flaw. It's only cosmetic, after all, and a guitar like that will look good with some beauty marks.

Upon reading the instructions for mounting the bigsby it says to mount the vibrato unit as far back on the body of the guitar as possible. So I don't really see where this will be a problem? I will put the question to Jimmy Eppard as the final word on the issue.

I can clamp it in place and put two strings on it and see what happens, thats the ticket.
