I have a Les Paul Custom with a Bigsby - the wrong one. I go the guitar 10 years ago and the idiot at the shop put the wrong one on - it was supposed to go on an archtop. This is why I have had troubles with strings popping out of the saddles. I have the Blues Festival coming up and I want to put the original bridge back on. The 2 holes where the posts for the bridge go have 2 little gold caps on them. I took off the caps and there are metal posts in there with a slat for a flathead screwdriver and a little threaded hole that the caps screw into. I tried removing the posts with a screwdriver - but they just turn and turn and never loosen.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there a way to get these posts out so I can put the original bridge back on? I guess a pic would help - I'll take one at lunch and upload it.

Thanks for any help.

According to the Bigsby web site, a Les Paul Custom should have a B7G, B70G (aluminum version of the B7G) or B12G. I was going to suggest a B5, then I remembered that a Les Paul most folks would picture has a carved top. Here's the link to the suggestions I found...
