JP, do you know where in the Tascam 38 manual it outlines procedures for switching to IEC2. I remember you mentioned that before, I'm just curious to see what it entails.

The closest I can find is the schematic for the R/P amp card - it points out the jumpers and which should be present or absent in NAB/IEC mode. These are the schematics for the '32, by the way.

As it happens I have a pair of '38 cards as well, and looking at them I see a number of components from this area are missing so they would appear to have bypassed it somehow :(

With the '32 schematics and a better grasp of electronics than I have, you could probably convert the board to '32 spec or possibly replace the component values to convert it from IEC to NAB (or whatever).

I can probably scan parts of the schematic if you need it...
 
No, thanks JP. I already have the manual for both the 32 and the 38. They're both IEC1. I just wanted to see if it was an easy change. If it was too complicated I probably wouldn't bother with it myself.
