Hi Dot!
You seem to have your finger firmly on the pulse of the universe of affordable recording mics, and i noticed you recently were raving about a kick mic which you found to blow away some of the old standbys like the D112.
I'm wondering if you have had a chance to audition the new AE2500 from Audio Technica? That's the kick mic with the dual-element design (condenser and dynamic capsules). The couple of things I've read about it were pretty enthusiastic. I'm not sure how it works, like if you can adjust the ratio of what you are getting from the two capsules or if it is fixed. But it does sound intriguing.
I would be curious as to how you think it stacks up to your current favorite. (Admittedly it is more expensive!)
