I would like to build a semi decent booth in my room, not quite sure where yet or how big to build it, which is where you guys come in.

Also, would this be good for mic'ing a guitar cab? I'm guessing yes.

Ok, let us start with question one. What is your goal from the booth? Is it:

1. To be able to record a dry track with little to no room reverb.

2. To be able to record the dry track while also not being able to hear outside noises and have your sound inside the booth be heard outside the booth.

Question 2. What are your construction limits. For example will you be building this in an apartment and not be able to do any permanent construction or on an upper floor where weight may be a concern?

for the MOST part i just want it to be like an isolation room for tracking guitars, so i can play at my computer and listen through the monitors.

it's in an upstairs bedroom in a house, i can build stuff, just can't be there permanently

Can you simply put your guitar cab in a different room, or on a different floor of the house? Then just run the cable from your guitar far enough to reach, and string enough mic cables together to get back. I think that would be the easiest way for you to record music and not be a construction worker.

What Sonic Clang is getting at is that the kind of isolation that you can be sure what you are hearing through your monitors isn't being affected by what is coming out of your booth is expensive and heavy.

Or maybe ask youself is DI all that bad?

I haven't had any luck with DI.

I think I'd need a snake to reach all the way to the closet. And I'd need a longer guitar cable. Any recommendations?
