Question about Tagging/Preparing for Cd production

Hey Guys,

So I finished mastering 3 tracks for an EP, rendered them as 24 bit wave files for now..will convert them to 16 bit for CD production now. This is the first time Im doing this, so I wanna know if there is any tagging like the ID3 tagging involved for wav files being sent for production. Do I just name the tracks as they are(which would allow names to be changed late) and send them or do I have to do some form of tagging like how we do for Mp3's?

Its my first time putting something on a physical release, so I have no idea on this..help me out!
 
You'd use the CD-TEXT function in the PQ editor (assuming it has a CD-TEXT function - Most do).
 
If you want something of value on the disk ensure an ISRC code has been embedded.
 
If this is for commercial release, you'll need an ISRC for each track, and track information (like track title, and artist info) in the relevant information boxes, in the PQ editor. This means when you put the CD into a computer and open something like iTunes, the program will be able to look up the ISRC for each track and download the track name for it automatically.

CD-TEXT is something subtly different, it is the text sometimes displayed on CD players in cars or home stereos. If you want CD-TEXT enabled players to display the track title, then you'll need to put that in too. A lot of professional record labels don't bother with this as it never really became a big deal, and a lot of people will just use iTunes anyway now.
