Maybe, but for $60 at compusa grab a turtle beach santa cruz or buy an oem SB Audigy online... soundcards are one of those computing areas where you generally "get what you pay for".

Oops, noticed your location, it's gonna be a crap shoot from the Phillipines, maybe a phillips or hercules card would be best (think they're available internationally).

specs..

What specifications should I look on the back of the box so that I'll know that the card is good for recording? I bought a card before and when i recorded track 2, track 1 would be recorded together with the input in track 2.

That sounds like a software/setup issue - probably not the card.

You probably want a full duplex (record & play at the same time) PCI sound card with a low signal-to-noise ratio and good D/A converters. I doubt you'll find a 24 bit card in your price range (unless you try ebay).

I just saw the latest Guitar Center mailer that had an Emagic Audiowerk 2 card for 59 bucks. It's a 16 bit analog (or 18 bit digital) 2-in 4-out card, but it's got decent D/A converters and it works very well for the price. I used one for a few months and it did me pretty well. In fact, I'd sell it to ya for $30 if you're interested (I upgraded to a C-Port).

I don't have the money yet at the moment. I'm still waiting if someone wants to buy my denio distortion pedal. I posted it in the free ads for music forum. If you would be willing to trade, that would be ok. If not, then I can save up to buy your soundcard..

You don't need specs, just stick with one of the following:

Creative Labs/Ensoniq AudioPCI
Creative Labs Soundblaster PCI128
Creative Labs Soundblaster PCI512
Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! Value

These are common cards, and the best choice at the $30 mark. (don't feel bad, we've all been there...that's for sure) BTW, those are in order from worst to best, so look for an SB Live Value.

All of these cards should be < $30 OEM. Check pricewatch.com ...although being in the phillipines it might not be so easy.

Slackmaster 2000

What about the Hercules Gamesurround Muse XL. is it ok?

For $30-$35, I don't think you can beat the Live!

It also has Soundfont capability and a quality sampler.

I'm a big fan of the ensoniq. If you can get a pre-soundblaster ensoniq, they are especially good.

so everyone thinks the Creative Labs Soundblaster Live is good?
Can I find them in Belgium?

How many ins and outs does the creative soundblaster live have. And what are outputs used for on a sound card. Im new to Comp. Recording, and don't want to spend a lot of money.
