Hello.

Our two guitarists have Line6 amps, and I wanted to use their amp output to send the signal into the PHM2000 in order to mix the volumes properly to a recording device. We would rather still hear the output on the amp itself, as they have different sound presets loaded and we are just using the output for recording purposes. Their amps seem to peak the unit easily, creating a very staticy sound. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks for any assistance

Are you using a mic on the amps?

Do the amps have cab modeling? You will need something like that to make them sound right coming out straight from the amps (not mic'ing).

Also you need to use the line in and not the mic ins if you are coming straight from the amps. The mic pre is what causing the clipping.

Well the line outputs are probably too hot for the input and this is assuming you understand gain structure in general, I would just suggest an inline pad maybe 20db try that first.
