Ok, so, as someone relatively new to recording, is there a "good" combo and "bad" combo for mixers and condensor mics. I.E. A guitarist generally doesn't use a strat with a Crate amp, cause it will usually sound just bad, even though in certain aspects both sound good with different equipment.

I'm getting a Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro. What's a good con mic to get to use with it? I've got a SM57 and I'm planning on using it for all round recording (drums, guitar, bass, vocals) and I'm planning on eventually making a really nice studio. Very eventually, sadly. Anyways, I play a lot of rock, jazz, and ska; and I record both male and female vocalists, so I need something that is more all round. And preferably not more than like, $200. Any suggestions?

In that price range I'd go with an MXL V93 mic. 57's are great but only having a dynamic mic will really limit your high and low end.
