Greetings,

I am trying to record some stuff...I have a couple microphones and I really don't know anything about them (I've also had trouble finding real info about them on the internet)...I was wondering if anyone can fill me in these that I've gotten through various means:

Stageworks UM66 Neodymium Unidirectional IMP 600 (with horeshoe looking symbol - what are those things?)

Fender P-51 (dynamic mic)

Sam Ash Dynamic Cardoid SA 2000

They're all in pretty good condition, so if anyone could give me any pointers, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Well what do you want to know? What are you going to be recording? Vocals, instruments, or is it going to be for live sound?

I'm just trying to do some drums, vocals, guitar amplifiers...basically anything I can use with them.

The horse shoe thing is the sign for OHMS refering to the impedence of the mic. The mics you listed are all dynamics. Unremarkable (read LOW budget)but you can use them for your stated purpose.

Well, I can tell you the P-51 is a re-badged cheap AKG dynamic. I have one, because I got a pair with my Fender Passport PA. I kept one, which I use as a talkback mic, because it's the only mic I own with a switch on it. Basically, you have a collection of $50 or less mics that are by and large, cheap dynamics. I don't think any of them will need to rent a tux for the Grammys.-Richie
