yes
i have a peavey valveking 100 head, and a korg ax1500g effects pedal, i was curious as to what is the best method to get the best sound out of my pedal... should i get a regular 1/4" instrument cable and plug it through the input of the head and then connect my guitar to the pedal? or should i get a cable such as the Live Wire 1/4"-1/4" Dual Patch Cable (link below) and connect the cables into the L and R inputs of the pedal, and then the effects send and effects receive inputs on my head, or just the 2 regular inputs on my head... i'm going to guitar center later to buy something, and any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

not sure it will make tons of difference but i'ld be tempted to try the effcts loop route...

Were it me, I would cable up to do it either way, try it both ways, and choose the way that sounds best to me. If I didn't hear a diff in the sound, I'd go with the simplest way.

Not to nitpick, but from what you posted, it looks like you would be connecting the FX send and receive ports to the left and right inputs of the box. You know that that's not correct, don't you? The Valve King is not a stereo head, so you'll only be using one channel of the FX box, and if you use the FX loop, it needs to be connected send=>box input and box output=>receive.

You do not want to connect the left and right outputs to the two channel inputs of your amp; if you do that, some of the stereo effects will cancel.

so if i got that dual patch cable, and i would plug one in from the effects send to the input of the pedal, and then the other from the effects return to the output of the pedal?

i do not have really any experience with effect loops so i appreciate the help

Yep ..... with a dual cable and an amplike that, that' how you would do it.

thank you very much, the cable isnt very expensive at all so i will try that and if i dont like it that much ill do it the other way with an instrument cable through one of the inputs.. thanks guys
