Okay, I have the opportunity to purchase a Hammond Porta-B (no, not XB-2 or anything like that, an actual portable Hammond, yes, they did make them) Organ for about $600, or I can get a Korg BX-3 Organ Hammond Clone for possibly much less, let's say, oh about $200. Now, I want a good original sound, but this is for on stage, not so much the studio, plus, my band is sort of a garage-y sounding rock and roll band, but I do want to be able to get the nicer, warmer sounds as well as the sharper, dirtier sounds, but once again, it can sound dirty, in fact, it can sound REALLY dirty and I wouldn't care. I just want to make sure I'm getting a decent sound, and that there's some room on the other end for a not-so dirty sound if I need it. I know that a real Hammond Organ is going to do a better job of sounding like a Hammond Organ, but if I'm paying half as much, is it going to make THAT much difference? Thoughts? Opinions? Thanks in advance. And again, let me just stress that these are the two options available to me right now, I can't afford much more than $600, and these are the two nicest peices I've found online that fit my budget.
