well i just started mixing on monitors(event tr8xl) for the first time. this is my second attempt took alittle more time in mixing. anyway looking for opinions...really wanna know how is the quality of the whole track vocal, reverb anything....cause my first track i mixed sounded good in my house but in my car the bass was too much........any opinions is welcomed thx...

As far as the vocals are concerned, they sound a bit hollow, or like you're recording in an open room. It's not the effect, it's the quality of the recording.

The adlibs aren't mixed in well at all, they're overtaking the main vocal most of the time. They need to compliment the track, not compete with it... feel me?

The second verse vocal tone was better than the first verse. But yeah.. there's a lot of work needing to be done still. However, if you're looking to put stuff on myspace or soundclick, this would suffice.

YEAH I FEEL YA....it is for soundclick and myspace but i still want to learn and get to that point were my mixing is somewhat acceptable to people who really know what to listen for......now you are right my room is pretty open thats my next project i am going to get fixed...now u say adlibs are too loud?? hmm through out the whole thing? u think they just need to be turned down?? any advice....thx homie edit i lower the adlibs on second vocal alittle bit..........how does it sound now??

oh yeah i like your track where i roam

That shyt sounds raw.

Hey man, what type mic u use?

wsup

I think the beat is wack! I'm not clownin just sayin I don't like the beat. Lyrics need help too the word play is not there! I do hear reverb in the vocals when they should be dry for the most part and there's no contrast between the adlibs and the main vocal. you can create contrast by a couple of ways combined..like pan the adlibs left and right-turn them down lower-high pass them to about 250hz-400hz play with this actually to see what you like and you should probably put some foam on the wall-put a rug under the mic and what not. check my song out and if you like the way it sounds then you are hearing my advice at work! link is in my sig!! Stay up Homie!
