Hey Im finally getting a new setup hence I have a little more experience in the whole recording hardware setup. Im coming from a fairly small setup containing of a (midi controller, mixer , mic and etc.)

Below is the new setup I'm now getting ... just wanted some advice, comments, and thoughts..

Everything is below:

-iMac G4
-Cubase SX
-Reason 2.5
-Radium 61 Keys Controller
-Firewire Audiophile
-Mackie Control Universal
-MPC 1000 or MPC4000
-Korg Triton or Yamaha Motif 6
-M-Audio Studiophile BX8 Studio Monitors
-Audio Techinca AT -3035 Cardoid Condensor Microphone
-Phonic - pch3200 Dual Channel Compressor
-Record Player

I will know how to work it once its setup .. but Im a little puzzled on how to set everything up correctly.. ... Please correct me if Im Wrong

Computer > FirewireAudiophile > Mackie and plugged into the mackie is the mpc either 1000 or 4000 , studio monitors, microphone , trition , and the compressor ? .. There is where i get confused can anyone help me out a little bit.

Thanks

Well...

I'm not quite sure what you're confused about. If you had a smaller setup that was working for you the role of the individual components in an expanded setup should be fairly obvious.

The Mackie will take the role of the mixer, the Triton/Motif will input both to the board for audio and the firewire sound card for midi into Reason which you can ReWire w/Cubase. I'm not clear on what you will use the Radium 61 for as you already have a capable midi master keyboard in either one of the two you are considering. Also I would recommend the MPC 1000 over the gorilla-sized and priced 4000 - it's much easier to understand + use and you probably don't need the sample manipulations which it won't do. I would recommend an RNC 1773 compressor over the Phonic - http://www.fmraudio.com/ - it's a little more $ but a whole lot better piece.
