pushing faders above 0?

i read somewhere that u should never push the faders volume pass 0. Is this true? if so why?

Move the faders however you want. Just don't clip. If you go into the red then you're clipping.

I'd argue to stay well short of full-scale, but there certainly isn't anything wrong with going positive on a fader.
