Hi,
Here is my mix. (unmastered)

Hope you enjoy.
Thank you and good luck everyone.

Hello everyone!

This is my final version of the song. Gozmozis, thank you so much for pointing out my mix was "muddy". It sure was! I spent 4 hours changing things around and I think it's better now. Not falling to the bright side of things, but still a little better. Again, thank you gozmozis!
As an update on what I did, this is now a full ITB mix. My Fatso and API eq are in use for another project, so I din't use them. To be honest, I think it sounds better now. I was compressing my 2bus a little too much...
Hope you guys like it!

I also did a little mastering. I hope I didn't ruin it again...

Hi all,
Here is my mix (made with reaper)
Well, I tried to transcribe that the words evokes, something spacey, dreamy, and hidden in the moonlight...
Voilà!

Wow, another awesome mix.

Hi. Here's my post where I discus about my mixing (along with few screenshots).

And Here is the mix I discuss about: View attachment Howlin'_SpedeMix_200514.mp3

It's been mastered bit quieter than the rest of you guys so don't be afraid to turn it up a bit :) More dynamics means more punch in the chorus, no matter how "modern sound" whatsoever.

I listened to most of the mixes posted on this thread and so far pretty much none of you guys have reached (let alone surpassed) the quality of "Ben's Mix". So I think you'd have a great chance at learning by importing Ben's mix into your session and matching yours with it. And then perhaps figure out how to make it even better. There were couple good sounding ones; gozmozis has great sounding verses in his mix.

EDIT: lol, I accidentally added wrong mix (I had uploaded it previously before I had ten posts made but HRF deletes assets the haven't utilized in one hour and I was a bit careless), now it's the correct one.

That's why we're all here, to learn and get better, doubt we have any professionals in here.

Can't check your mix out yet, but I'll listen to it when I get on my computer.

I enjoyed mixing this song! i spent some good time mixing. I just have a question i noticed that on SoundCloud there are mixes from different people and i just uploaded my mix into the "puremix cloud" but i don't know if i need to do it again on SoundCloud?

I like your mix balance accept for the drums against the rest of the track. Your mix came out sounding unexciting because of this.

Please check out mine:

Hi all again - yes, I agree we all have a lot to learn. I have taken on board all the comments and advice and here's my new mix ... I rebalanced the lead vs BV's ... re-EQ'd all the vocals (I had deliberately made them a bit sharper on the ear, but seems others thought this was an EQ too far!) then moved the vocals down into the mix and pushed the percussion up a bit.

Please do let me know if you think this is better or if I have gone too far away from my original mix ideas ... I'm more used to recording/mixing Big Band with Vocals or classical sax quintets, flute+piano, or electric folk (mandolas, vox, dulcimer etc), so this a little away from my comfort zone. My live work in the 70's/80's was with a Gong/Caravan/Hatfield and the North influenced band and a disco/dance/blues 12 piece, so again, quite different to this genre.

Regards

Rob (aka doctorbob)
