I loved this tune GONZO...!!

Nice touch with the bongos/congas?

Singing is flavored of Stephen Stills.

I love all the guits going 2:20...man that rocks...some good panning of the guits.

Your playing is spot on too.

Nothing to nit about this.

i was going for a 'feel' thing with this one.....
the last thing i wanted, was for this song to be ultra tight, like i had played with a click track or something...

i wanted this to have the feel of a few people sitting around, and just falling into this song, almost like improv-- loose, and from the heart.

My first impression was that vox verb was too long comparing with guitars, but only at first audition...really, sounds so good that best thing to do is listening and enjoy.:cool:

*B string (L channel) seems tuned a little "down" (apparent at 1:15 to 1:38 IMO).
 
Absolutely superb songwriting, playing and production as far as I'm concerned. Sounds very late 60's/early 70's, in a good way, but still original. Nicely minimal instrumentation too. The bongos suit it down to the ground. Well done.

the verb on the voice, well, it's just the way i like to hear it.
i don't mind if it's an obvious element...
i listen to old classic tunes (beatles, 3 dog night, whatever) and they've got this ridiculous plate reverb on things that just sounds so out of place........!
but, i like it.
i tried to go fairly light with it...

the guitars, are strictly miced up.
no direct....

It sounds great, I really like the parts where there are multiple guitar solos going on at the same time. Sometimes it sounds too cluttered when songs do this, but you pulled if off well.
 
Another great tune Mr Gonzo...This vocal style is probably my favorite of yours. True is right - somewhat Stephen Stills with a smattering of Yes. Choice guitar playing.... Recording is excellent. :cool:

it's actually harder for me to sing softer, like this, than harder like on the other tune i posted recently....
guitar is a taylor 414, and a simple mic setup (med cond, mic pre, compressor, convertor, recorder) was the deal.
 
How many guitars are there? One left, one right and one center? Sounds great by the way. Good work.

yep, it's two rhythm guitars, with a solo guitar more or less in the center.

this is really cool...:) an excellent recording. kind of a rare combination of trechnically proficient playing with a mellow, honest sound.
 
Real nice...that stuff you were doing around the 2:20 mark absolutely knocks me down a peg or two...
