HI, I am working on the Power supply unit for the digital 328, I have the schematics and the unit. The PSU is DEAD. No output power on any pin. Inside the board, where the schematic says Transformer 1 belongs (to generate +400V AC) there are two jumpers. Does anyone have a working PSU to compare? I have no idea what Transformer 1 should be or look like, and from my measurements, the voltage to the rest of the circuits are low, so none of the regulators will work. I have heard that these things are notoriously bad, but am new to the game and looking for resources so that I can fix this desk.
I am considering another option, which is to take a PC power supply and modify it for injection at the power connector to the desk. Has anyone tried this before? The voltages are very close, and the supply is 350W vs. the 100W from the factory. It won't fit inside, but a little modification (remove factory PSU and use holes to pass new cable bundle through) will work. I'm thinking that if I can get this to work, the whole world will be a better place, because the cheesy factory PSU can be rplaced by a plentiful, cheap, reliable, and reuseable (envirnmental conciousness kicking in) resource!
Thanks in advance for any help!
